I'm a serious sucker for a good NARS launch and the new collection that’s launching into Selfridges at the start of July is an absolute beauty! I let out a *slightly* loud squeal when this sneak preview landed on my doorstep earlier in the week, and that was before I even looked inside the packaging.
There will be three main items that make up the range – two lip crayon trios, plus the obligatory must-have blusher palette.
The True set (pictured) is a perfect threesome of full-sized lip crayons, all in bright, bold finishes. There’s Yu – their infamous, blue-based hot pink in a satin finish; Luxembourg which is a vibrant red in a satin finish and also Provocative Red which seems to be exclusive to this set, and is a slightly more burnt red in a matte finish.
Yu is already a firmly loved shade in my lipstick line-up; the shade is really flattering, even on lighter skin tones and the blue base to it means whiter looking teeth and a slightly brighter complexion. Double win. Luxembourg is also a great shade if you like a classic red with a decent amount of depth to it.
I love the formula of NARS’ lip crayons as they last really well once applied to the lips and the shape makes them easy to apply without the need for any brushes. Inside this trio, they’ve also included a handy NARS sharpener, so you’ll never have to hunt around the stationery cupboard for one that fits again (been there).
They come perfectly packaged in the most beautiful case - I think NARS have really gone to town with this paint splash inspired design. I’m currently trying to work out if I can somehow remove the inner holders so I can use it as some sort of trinket tray as this is a definite dressing table keeper!
If you’re not a fan of the bolder lip shades, there will also be a more nude based lip crayon set launching, plus a fantastic looking blusher palette that for once doesn’t feature Laguna as the bronzer shade! Cheers all round for that one no doubt (it’s a fab shade, but we really don’t need it in every palette after all!). I for one will be hot footing it to Selfridges on launch day to nab myself a blusher palette to add to my collection, however all three new launches will also be available online if you’re not close to an actual store.
Price wise, the lip crayon sets are £29, which I was quite surprised at – I thought they’d be a little more than that! I’m waiting on confirmation on the price of the blusher palette, but I’m guessing it will be around the £35 mark.
You can find the new NARS collection from Selfridges on 1st July.
What do you think of these new launches from NARS?
