Zoeva Pink Elements Classic Brush Set Review

When Zoeva launched into the UK earlier this year, I let out a little cheer - the German makeup brush brand has been on my wishlist for ages, but has been notoriously hard to get hold of up until now.

Zoeva was started up in 2006 by founder Zoe Boikou who wanted to create high quality brushes at an affordable price point. The name 'Zoeva' comes from a blend of 'Zoe' (the founder) and 'Eva' (the very first woman). Despite just starting out with 10 brushes, there are now dozens to choose from, including some amazing brush sets which are enough to make any makeup lover drool.

The Pink Elements Classic Set* definitely falls into that category. Featuring a combination of face and eye brushes, it's a brush lover's dream and best of all (in my book, anyhow) it features hot pink brush handles.

Inside the kit are eight brushes - three for the face and five for the eyes. If you're looking for a great value starter brush kit, then this is definitely it - you can do pretty much anything you need to with the brushes inside.

Included in the kit are (show L-R in the photo)
:
104 Buffer - for flawless foundation application and blending
127 Luxe sheer cheek - for powder blushers or highlighter products
109 Luxe Face Paint - an unusually shaped flat-topped wide brush good for contouring and sculpting
227 Luxe Soft Definer: for blending and smoothing eye shadow
230 Luxe Pencil: applying and shading eye shadow and kohl
231 Luxe Petit Crease: very small, but great for accentuating in the eye crease
317 Wing Liner: get the perfect flick with gel or cream liners
322 Brow Line: for brow powders and creams

All of the brushes are very good quality and wash up really well. It's hard for me to pick a favourite from the brush set as I think that they are all amazing, but the 104 Buffer has stolen the top spot from all of my foundation brushes over the past few weeks and I honestly don't think I can go back to a traditionally-shaped flat foundation brush now!

The 227 Luxe Soft Definer is amazing for getting a flawlessly blended eye shadow look - it reminds me a lot of the MAC 217 brush, but without the costly price tag. The bristles are super fluffy and feel really gentle against the skin, making a blended smokey eye really easy to achieve.

There are a mix of natural hair and synthetic brushes inside this kit, so if you're looking for a completely synthetic set, I would recommend buying them individually from the Zoeva website instead (each one is clearly marked).

All in all I think this is an amazing value set that will last you for years. I'll definitely be adding to my Zoeva brush collection in the future! They've also recently launched some makeup which I'm putting to the test at the moment, so look out for a review on that coming soon,

The Pink Elements Classic Set costs £55 for the eight brushes, plus a gunmetal coloured Zoeva clutch bag and can be bought directly from their website. There's also a Pink Elements Complete Eye set, which features 12 eye brushes if you're on the hunt for a great eye-only brush kit.

Have you tried Zoeva brushes before?
