Boutique offer a wide range of good quality, reasonably priced makeup. I initially tested it out at their launch last year and was really impressed with what I saw. They've created some new shades for the summer, focusing on lip glosses, eye shadows and nail polishes.
The star products for me are definitely the eye shadows and nail polishes. The shadows are really buttery and blend very easily. They also last well throughout the day, even without a primer underneath them. While the shade selection isn't particularly trend led, there are a lot of very pretty neutrals to choose from, including Wouldn't Bat an Eyelid which is the shade I've swatched. At £4 each, they're very reasonable, and are definitely something i'd pop in my basket as a little treat.
Boutique's nail polishes are also really good value. This soft coral 'Tickety Boo' shade is perfect for the summer and only needs two coats for a high shine, opaque finish. These kinds of shades do have a habit of being a bit streaky, but this wasn't something I noticed at all. Lasting power is about average, with me getting about 3 days before the chips set in. There are loads of shades to choose from in the range, so there's definitely something for everyone. £4 each.
I wasn't overly fussed with the lip glosses from Boutique - the shade is lovely, but it's a little bit sticky. It does last well on the lips though, and I only needed a top up after about 2-3 hours, or after eating. At £6, it's a good buy if you're a lip gloss lover, but I will be sticking to their lipsticks instead (which are amazing value!).
Boutique is definitely a range I'd recommend trying out next time you're visiting a larger Sainsbury's store. Makeup shopping doesn't count if it's part of the food shop, right?
