Selfridges have launched The Beauty Project - a 6 week long celebration and exploration of everything beauty. Not just limited to the beauty halls, The Beauty Project focuses on 6 central themes which focus on different aspects of the on-going beauty debate: Men and Beauty, Age and Beauty, Adornment/Extreme Beauty, Global Beauty, Androgyny and Natural Beauty.
Running throughout 1st May to 12th June (and across all of their stores), the Beauty Project has an amazing array of activities, events and talks, as well as pop up stations in and around the beauty halls.
I popped along to the launch event last week, and was excited to see the makeover the London store has had. Not only have the infamous window displays been devoted to the Beauty Project, but walking in to the ground floor, you get a special feel of some of the exciting things that are going on.
There are a massive range of thought-provoking talks being held in the Salon (lower ground floor), with the likes of Sali Hughes, Caroline Hirons, Illamasqua founder Alex Box and Alexa Chung. You can see the whole list of events and book your places over on the Selfridges website.
Dotted around the store are extra special pop ups - with the likes of the Tattoo Shop featuring temporary, henna and permanent tattoos, Fingernails 2 Go - an amazing machine that will print any design onto your nails (or a false set) in about 2 minutes and the Fragrance Lab - a groundbreaking way to explore fragrance, where you'll be able to find your perfect scent. There's also Face Gym - a unique anti-ageing massage treatment for your face that gives muscles a workout, leaving them looking firmer and tighter.
I highly recommend getting yourself down to Selfridges to experience The Beauty Project - this is the biggest ever beauty event Selfridges have ever run, and it promises to be seriously exciting!
