Oils, oils, oils

Hair, face, body, you name it, there's now an oil for it. I love oils. After many years of being terrified that putting oils on my face and hair would make it terribly greasy, I've fallen in love with them and wanted to share some of my favourites with you.

If like me you're scared that oils will make you oily, don't panic. Brands make all kinds of different oils that are targeted at different skin and hair types, and the right facial oil can do wonders at balancing out an oily complexion.

Hair, body and face oils

Face oils:

Trilogy Rosehip Oil - this is a really good, simple oil that I'd recommend to anyone. It contains one ingredient - rosehip oil, and can be used on your face and body. I love to use this at night instead of a traditional night cream, but if you have dry skin, a couple of drops mixed into a moisturiser will give a lovely rich treatment. £16.50 20ml

Bodhi Neroli Luce Revistalising oil* - this is perfect for balancing out oily/combination skins. It contains sea buckthorn, neroli and frankincense and is absorbed into the skin super fast. It can be used morning and night, and one to two pumps per use will be plenty. £32 15ml

Jurlique Herbal Recovery Antioxidant face oil* - Made up of 100% natural botanical and essential oils, this has a wonderful herbal scent to it. It's designed to help smooth fine lines, deeply hydrate the skin and add back some luminousity that's often taken away by environmental factors. Two to three drops pressed gently into the skin at night will leave you with baby soft, glowing skin in the morning. £38 50ml

Hair Oils:

Macadamia  Healing Oil Treatment - I think this is my 4th small bottle of this fab oil. I love the slightly nutty smell, the way it stops frizz and also helps make my hair feel super soft and silky, without looking greasy. £9.35 30ml

Bumble and Bumble Hairdresser's Invisible Oil* - a lightweight oil that's great for taming flyaways, this one is great for fine hair as it doesn't weigh it down or make it look greasy. It works well on both wet or dry hair, and I find 2 pumps is plenty for my shoulder length hair. £31 100ml

Rana Argan oil*  - this wonder product from Rana is 100% pure argan oil. It's multi-purpose, and is also great used as a body oil, and because it contains no fillers, you only need the tiniest amount each time. I use a drop on dry hair to help smooth flyaways, and also as an overnight hair treatment. £9 30ml

Body Oils:

REN Rose Otto body oil - I adore REN products and this rose body oil is one of my favourites. It smells just like Turkish Delight, is easily absorbed into skin and leaves you with silky soft limbs. It's a little pricey, so I tend to get this as a Christmas treat when the REN gift sets come out. £34 100ml

Aromatherapy Associates Revive oil - This is a super fresh, citrus scented body oil, designed to help refresh you in the mornings. I like to use it after my morning shower to help me wake up! It's absorbed super quickly into skin, so there's no need to hang about for hours before you get dressed. Definitely not one for night time, but wonderful if like me, you aren't a morning person. £40 100ml
