NOTD: Nails Inc Duchess Street and American Apparel Constellation

I received Nail Inc Duchess Street as part of a recent swap with the lovely Beauty Balm. It's a gorgeous rich purple shade that looks fabulous alone, goes opaque in 2 coats and dries super fast.

After hearing about American Apparel giving away free nail polish with a voucher, I virtually ran there after work to grab one and picked up the gorgeous glitter shade 'constellation'. It's quite unusual as rather than the standard glitter particles, this one has thin shards of silver glitter like narrow confetti.

Bring impatient I decided I would layer the two together so I got to play with both of my new nail polishes rather than having to choose.

And here's how they look (two coats of each polish):

I'm loving the finish that you get with constellation and think duchess Street looks great as a base coat. I'll also be trying constellation out over some other more nude polishes over the next few weeks to see how it holds up without a dark base coat. It definitely needs a top coat to seal the glitter shards down - I didn't use one (being lazy) and have been scratching myself with them ever since. Oops...

Nails Inc retails for £11 and the american apparel polishes cost £7. I have to say I would definitely pay £7 for Constellation. I love it!!
